Purpose of the Crown Family School IRB:
The University of Chicago's Federalwide Assurance (FWA) requires that ALL research conducted with human subjects or data generated from human subjects be reviewed and approved by an appropriate IRB.
Functions of the Crown Family School IRB:
The Crown Family School IRB reviews and approves, disapproves, or defers all research protocols. Provides assistance with IRB applications for staff, students, and faculty
Provides the CITI educational course on the fundamentals of the protection of human subjects. This requirement applies to all researchers conducting human subjects research.
