Karina Kling

Karina Kling is a Senior Research Analyst at the Kersten Institute for Urban Education's Consortium on School Research, applying developmental and cognitive science with quantitative analysis to new questions about students’ learning experiences. 

Her doctoral research as a U.S. Department of Education Institute of Education Sciences Fellow focused on math concept acquisition in early childhood, pre-K, and elementary school, contextualizing learning as a collaborative process in both classrooms and home environments. 

Prior to joining the Consortium, Karina also worked as an educator, teaching summer enrichment courses for high school students and contributing to instructional teams for graduate and undergraduate-level math, statistics, and psychology courses. In her free time, 

Karina enjoys long lakefront walks, testing out new baking recipes, and exploring the night sky by stargazing.
