Angela is a clinical social worker who has over 25 years of experience in the field of medical social work. She is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago. Angela has worked with a variety of populations at The University of Chicago, The University of Chicago Hospitals and is currently at the Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago as the Manager of Outpatient Social Work Care Coordination and Transition to Adult Care. She has extensive experience in child abuse and trauma, developmental pediatrics, the State of Illinois’ Early Intervention system and clinical supervision.
Angela has experience teaching Direct Practice 301 II and has served as a both a Crown Field Consultant and for many years, a Crown Field Instructor.
Currently, Angela’s academic research focus is on healthcare transition, which is the planned and purposeful movement of adolescents and young adults from pediatric systems of care to adult medical systems. She is currently working with a national consortium of social workers to look at the role of social work in leadership in healthcare transition as well as what tasks and skills are essential for social workers to know when working with patients and families during the transition.
