Academic Pathways for Year 1 at the Crown Family School

If a student completes the requirements in their major, has not taken classes in the Crown Family School, and is not writing a thesis,* their schedule might look like this:

*If requirements are completed, have not taken classes in Crown, and is doing thesis, please contact Crown at admissions@crownschool.uchicago.edu.

 

If a student completes their requirements in their major, has taken SSAD 25002 (Autumn 300) or SSAD 25810 (Winter 300), and is not writing a thesis,* their schedule might look like this:

Fall Winter Spring
301 301 Three courses similar to regular AM students in social admin or clinical practice
300 if did not take 25002; If took 25002, another AM requirement 300 if did not take 25810; If took 25810, HBSE/302/other AM requirement  
Diversity & Inclusion requirement HBSE/302/other AM requirement

If a student is writing a thesis for their major, has completed all other requirements for the major, and has taken SSAD 25002 or SSAD 25810, their schedule might look like this:

Fall Winter Spring
301 301 467 for social admin; clinical methods for clinical practice
300 if did not take 25002;*
If took 25002, no additional class		 300 if did not take 25810;  
If took 25810, HBSE/302/other AM requirement		 One additional class for either social admin or clinical practice or core requirement (if cannot waive 302 or 327)

*Students taking Fall 300 and the thesis seminar would need approval for a one-course overload from the Crown Family School for the quarter, or they might take the D&I requirement in Winter. 

 

If a student has 2-3 course requirements left to fulfill for their major, has taken SSAD 25002 or SSAD 25810, and is not writing a thesis, their schedule might look like this:

Fall Winter Spring
301 301 467 for social admin; clinical methods for clinical practice
300 if did not take 25002; 
If took 25002, Requirement for major
 		 300 if did not take 25810;
If took 25810, Requirement for major		 One additional class for either social admin or clinical practice or core requirement (if cannot waive 302 or 327)
