Ryan Durbin joined the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice in April 2026 as a Data Liaison with the Kersten Institute for Urban Education's Consortium on School Research. In his role, he supports research partnerships through data management, documentation, and analysis that inform education research, policy, and practice. He is primarily embedded in the Chicago Public Schools central office to facilitate collaboration between CPS and the University of Chicago research institutions. Ryan supports technical cross-organizational communications and coordinates data extractions and transfers between Chicago Public Schools and University of Chicago research organizations, including the Inclusive Economy Lab, Education Lab, Kersten Institute's Consortium on School Research, and To&Through Project. Additionally, he documents and archives CPS data for research purposes.

Prior to joining the Kersten Institute's Consortium on School Research, Durbin served as a Data Liaison with the University of Chicago Education Lab, where he collaborated with Chicago Public Schools and university research partners to facilitate the responsible use of data for research. He holds a Master of Science in Economics and Policy Analysis from DePaul University and brings expertise in economics, data analytics, and evidence-informed decision-making.
