Kate Shim, MBA

Kate joined the Crown Family School in 2026. Previously, she worked with faculty and students at the University of Chicago Law School and with international students at Lewis University and the Illinois Institute of Technology. As Assistant Director of Admissions at the Crown School, Kate enjoys acting as a partner throughout the recruitment and application process. She is focused on supporting the next generation of social workers as they align their educational goals with the Crown Family School’s mission of working toward a more just and humane society through research, teaching, and service to the community. 

Kate has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from The Keller School at DeVry University. Outside of work, she enjoys coaching her son’s soccer team, spending time outdoors with her family, and spoiling her senior cat
