Devi Raja partners with nonprofits, government agencies, philanthropy, and cross-sector coalitions to strengthen management capacity, sharpen strategic focus, and design for impact in complex ecosystems. She brings expertise across the full spectrum of organizational management, including strategy, operations, governance, program design, change management, and growth. Her work emphasizes situating organizations within the systems and networks they shape and depend on, embedding new ways of thinking and working that strengthen capacity and leadership over time.
Examples of her work at the intersection of management, strategy, and ecosystem design include:
- Lurie Children’s Hospital and the Illinois State Board of Education – designed coalition strategy and a statewide metrics system (Resilience-Supportive Schools Illinois) to assess schools’ capacity to support student mental health, and provided program management for the Resilience Education to Advance Community Healing initiative (2022–2025)
- mHUB and the Illinois Clean Tech Economy Coalition – facilitated the formation and program design of an 18-partner coalition advancing clean energy innovation, workforce development, and equitable economic growth in Illinois (2021–2023)
- Planned Parenthood Federation of America – designed and established a central capability to support affiliates in making critical business model decisions grounded in data, trends, and current realities, paired with expert coaching and facilitation (2024–2025)
- Individual nonprofit and philanthropic partners – worked with organizations such as United Way of Metro Chicago, Nourishing Hope, AIDS Foundation Chicago, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Bottom Line Chicago, and Ingenuity/Chicago Public Schools to evolve their management, leadership, and strategies in the context of shifting community needs and sector landscapes
Earlier in her career, Devi served as Strategy Director at Feeding America, where she led the strategy to distribute five billion pounds of produce through the national hunger relief supply chain and advanced initiatives on organizational effectiveness and strategic growth. She began her career at Bain & Company, rising from Associate to Manager.
Devi serves leaders as both a consultant and work-life coach, strengthening organizations and the people who lead them. She has also served as a coach and facilitator for Bridgespan’s Leading for Impact® and Strategic Clarity Accelerator programs. Devi earned her BA in Economics and Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
