Dr. Schiller earned her BA in Sociology from the University of Chicago and both her MSW and PhD in Social Work and Sociology from the University of Michigan, where she was a National Institute on Aging fellow.  

She has conducted research in aging and end-of-life issues, and also worked as a hospice social worker.  Dr. Schiller has taught a class on death and dying at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work for the last decade and will be creating a course on grief and loss in 2027.  She has a private therapy practice in Oak Park.
