Congratulations on your admission to the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice! Whether you've already decided to attend or are still trying to make your final decision, we invite admitted students to attend Admitted Students Week and experience our campus community firsthand. Admitted Student Week will provide you with an opportunity to: 

  • Connect with current and incoming students, as well as alumni
  • Hear from faculty across a wide range of policy areas
  • Learn about student support resources
  • See what unique opportunities we offer for your field practicum

Admitted Students Week will kick off with an in-person event on Saturday, April 2nd at Edith Abbott Hall (969 E 60th St., Chicago, IL) on the University of Chicago's Hyde Park campus. ASW sessions between Monday, April 4th and Wednesday, April 6th will be hosted on Zoom. Click here to see our full schedule of events. We encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible, and we strongly encourage you to attend any session relevant to your admission.

FAQs

  • What time will check-in begin? Check-in will open at 8:00 AM in the lobby of Edith Abbott Hall. Please allow additional time to arrive and check-in. Nametags will be distributed at the check-in table.
  • Will there be refreshments/food served for attendees? Light refreshments will be served between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Box lunches will be served at Noon. Additional refreshments will served between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM during the Social Hour that closes out the day.
  • Can I bring a guest? Due to capacity restrictions put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance is limited to applicants who have received an admission offer for the 2022-2023 academic year. 
  • Is there parking available? How can I attend using public transit? Free street parking is available along the Midway for attendees driving to campus. There also several University ownded and operated parking lots in the vicinity.   • Is the event acessible for attendees with disabilities and those with limited mobility? Edith Abbott Hall is compliant with the Americans with Disablities Act (ADA) and has several ramps and elevators to accomodate the mobility needs of all attendees. If special communication or mobility accomodations are needed, please contact the Student Disablities Services Office at disabilities@uchicago.edu
