You now have a chance to leave a meaningful and lasting legacy through the African American Alumni Committee (AAAC) Founders Scholarship Fund. For the first time, the Fund now will become an integral part of the University of Chicago's endowment – meaning that your gift will be managed and invested in perpetuity, and the earnings will be used solely to fund scholarships for Black or African American students at the Crown Family School. You can be confident that your gift will provide vital support to social workers who will make enduring change in high-need communities. Your gift affirms your commitment to the profession and the future careers of dedicated Black and African American social workers.

The Crown Family School continues to lead the field of social work and social welfare through excellence in research, training, and direct impact in the community. As a charter member of the endowment, you will help the Crown Family School attract extraordinary students who will address the most pressing social challenges of our times. You may determine the amount and frequency of your endowment gift, and may designate it to honor a loved one. The AAAC is committed to raise $50,000, which will be matched 1:1 by the Crown Family School for a total commitment of $100,000. We expect to complete this effort by December 2021.

The AAAC Founders Scholarship Fund, established by the University in partnership with AAAC members, will provide scholarship support to students applying to or who are in the process of completing a Masters in Social Work, Social Policy, and Social Administration from the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. In awarding AAAC Founders Scholarships, in keeping with the intention of the AAAC, the Crown Family School will match the scholarships to students who self-identify as Black, African American, or as descending from American chattel slavery to fund the financial aid packages that those students would have otherwise been awarded. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the University may at any time in the future modify or disregard any scholarship selection criteria contrary to law or then existing University policy.

Please join us in honoring the legacy of the African American Alumni Committee. Your gift to the AAAC Founders Scholarship Fund will touch many lives for years to come. To be a founding member of this endowment scholarship fund, please complete the form below.

Thank you for your support and generosity.
