Moore’s career spans teaching and leadership roles at St. Olaf College, Boston University School of Social Work, and Smith College. Her scholarship focuses on race, culture, family, and community, with an emphasis on African American, LGBTQIA+, and intergenerational family systems. Her current research explores racialized fear in institutions through critical race and psychodynamic lenses, and the lived experiences of LGBTQ seniors in intentional housing communities.

She will be recognized at Smith’s Alumni Dinner and Awards Celebration in July and will also serve as keynote speaker for the Deepening Clinical Practice Conference.

Her award and ongoing work exemplify the Crown Family School’s mission to prepare scholars and practitioners who foster equitable systems and strengthen communities.
