Kris Manjapra presents: “Maroon Ecologies of the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean, 1860-1930

Kris Manjapra is a professor of history at Tufts University and is the author of five books on race, colonialism, and diaspora, including Colonialism in Global Perspective (Cambridge University Press). His most recent book, Black Ghost of Empire: The Long Death of Slavery and the Failure of Emancipation (Penguin UK), was shortlisted for the 2022 New England Book Prize.
