I am a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the University of Illinois Chicago, with over a decade of applied nonprofit experience and extensive teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level. My professional background includes several years working in nonprofit development, communications, and program support, where I developed a grounded understanding of nonprofit operations, fundraising, and organizational strategy. As a scholar, my research centers on the racialized dynamics of nonprofit organizations. My work draws on ethnographic, interview-based, and mixed-methods approaches to explore how organizational forms can both reflect and challenge broader structures of race, gender, and inequality.
