Dominique McKoy

Dominique “Dom” McKoy is the Executive Director of The University of Chicago To&Through Project, which strives to create equitable education outcomes for Chicago Public Schools students by helping educators use data for inquiry and impact. 

Through his work, Dom aims to ensure education and community leaders in positions to affect student outcomes from the middle grades through college have access to high-quality quantitative and qualitative data to better understand student experiences and to inform the development of responsive student supports. As a leader, Dom is passionate about facilitating public dialogue and partnerships that focus on disrupting inequitable systems and developing postsecondary pathways that students can access with agency and dignity. 

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Dom moved to Chicago in 2011 to begin his career as a mentor and educator, working with 9th-grade young men on the city's Southside. Since then, he has also served as the Director of School Partnerships at OneGoal Chicago and the Deputy Director of the To&Through Project, which he joined in 2018. 

He holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago's Harris School and a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. Dom also serves on the board of Project OneTen, a Chicago-based mentoring program supporting young men of color in their transition to high school. He enjoys gardening when Chicago is not freezing, and staying active through pick-up basketball
