2SLGBTQIA+ Affirmative Social Work

This course will focus on building a foundation of knowledge in the policies and systems impacting 2SLGBTQIA+ folx (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and all others under the Queer umbrella not captured here). We will learn about various historical events that have impacted and shaped the present experience and discourse around 2SLGBTQIA+ people. We will also explore what our current knowledge, through research, history, and the voices of lived experiences, tells us about building an affirming practice and its impact.
