Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Practice & Consultation Fellowship

The Center for Contextual Behavioral Practices is pleased to offer a 9-month fellowship focused on the practice of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This fellowship will provide mental health professionals with exposure to the theoretical underpinnings of ACT alongside opportunities to explore their clinical practice from a contextual behavioral perspective. 

Each fellowship session will prompt participants to ponder their own values, goals, and challenges as both a therapist and as a human being (who also experiences lapses in mindfulness and value-based living).  As mental health professionals, we often face our own barriers in being fully present to those who are suffering.  Through cultivating and embodying a sense of acceptance and mindfulness, ACT clinicians carry the potential to create a radically accepting context in which meaningful change can occur.  

The sessions will alternate between didactic lectures, group discussions, experiential exercises, and case consultation.  Case consultation sessions include opportunities for participants to present cases and identify ways of intervening through an ACT lens. In doing so, participants will further develop the clinical “eyes” and “ears” necessary to help their clients move towards a life that is worth living. 

The ACT Practice & Consultation Fellowship Fellowship takes place online: live and interactive, via Zoom. 

Registration for the 2024-2025 fellowship will open July 15, 2024. 

Eligibility

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field required.

Credit

Participants who complete the program will receive 45 CEUs.

The Professional Development Program at Crown Family School is a State of Illinois licensed provider of continuing education for social workers, clinical psychologists, professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists. License numbers: 159.000140, 168.000115, and 268.000004.

It is recommended that professionals review rules for their licensing board prior to applying to ensure that the content meets their renewal, and/or reciprocity requirements.

Tuition

Tuition for the 2024-2025 fellowship will be announced in spring 2024.

Tuition includes CEUs, course readings, instruction, and related materials.
