The PARC Small Grants Program provides internal research funding to tenure-track faculty at any rank across the University of Chicago, including faculty based outside the Crown Family School. The program is designed to advance rigorous faculty research while simultaneously investing in graduate research training and encouraging the dissemination of research beyond academic audiences.

Research Opportunities

The PARC Small Grants Program supports faculty-led research projects that include involving University of Chicago graduate students with substantive research experience and intentional faculty mentorship. By linking research support with graduate training, the program seeks to invest not only in individual projects but also in the relationships and skills through which research capacity, knowledge, and impact are developed.

The program welcomes proposals representing a range of substantive areas, theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and forms of empirical inquiry consistent with PARC’s broader mission.

The program also encourages projects that extend the reach of research beyond academic audiences. Applicants may propose activities that translate or disseminate research findings to relevant policy, practice, community, or broader public audiences, including policy briefs, community reports or presentations, public-facing data products, practitioner resources, or other forms of research translation and dissemination.
