K. Sujata is a strong advocate for women and girls, and has broad experience in Chicago's philanthropic, business, and nonprofit communities. She serves as president of Chicago Foundation for Women, a grant making organization dedicated to increasing resources and opportunities for women and girls in the greater Chicago area. Ms. Sujata has worked at several notable nonprofit agencies. Before joining the nonprofit sector, she studied and worked as a scientific researcher in Chicago and her native India.

Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith, M.D., Adjunct Professor, Harvard School of Public Health, delivers the 2014 Social Justice Address. A pioneer and innovator, Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith is among the nation’s preeminent leaders in defining, researching, and treating violence. As a physician working in inner-city Boston, she broke new ground with her efforts to have youth violence defined as a public health crisis rather than as a criminal justice issue. She formerly served as the Commissioner of Public Health for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Wimsatt has written for Vibe, The Chicago Tribune, Huffington Post, The Nation, and published six books, including the recent Please Don’t Bomb the Suburbs: A Midterm Report on My Generation, and the Future of our Super Movement.
