Meet the 2026 Madderom Staff Award Recipient

Celebrating Alice Jackson's Outstanding Service to the Crown Family School
Each year, the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice takes time to recognize staff members whose work is essential to our operations and our community. This year, Alice Jackson, Field Office Project Assistant, was honored with the 2026 Keith Madderom Staff Award for her exceptional contributions.
Established in 2016, the award is named for Keith Madderom, former Associate Dean of Administration, who served the University and Crown Family School for 45 years. The Madderom Award recognizes a staff member who performs above and beyond their responsibilities while advancing other necessary administrative tasks, with conscientious service and responsiveness.
As the Field Office Project Assistant, Jackson serves as a key point of contact for field instructors, students, and staff navigating the administrative side of field education. According to her nomination, she consistently finds ways to move necessary work forward while providing conscientious service and quick, thoughtful responses. "I genuinely appreciate how her main focus is supporting the team," her nominator wrote. "She communicates proactively, always keeps us informed, and is incredibly responsive, most of us joke about how she replies within minutes!"
The nomination also credits Jackson with being among the first to notice and act when unexpected challenges arise, often resolving issues quickly and keeping department coordination on track. Colleagues describe her as someone who builds strong working relationships across Crown Family School staff and is well-regarded throughout the school.
After more than a decade in the role, Jackson continues to adapt to new challenges and take on more for the team, according to her nomination.
