How to Support Mental Health Staff

About this event

Organizational Change in the Pandemic World: Supporting Your Mental Health Staff

3 CEUs

The last few years have been very challenging for many sectors of the workforce, and have highlighted the connection between mental health and the productivity of workers. But what about managing those who are providing mental health services? At the beginning of the pandemic, they were categorized as “essential workers.” However, have we, in the social services sector, treated them as such? After all, they support others, and need to be supported in the work that they do.

In this workshop, we will identify the changes in work and service delivery (such as the move to virtual assistance and the use of technology, remote work, and the emotional and relational issues that this has caused) and help managers move beyond the typical clinical tools used in their management of social service workers.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will:

1. Better understand the changes and challenges that have arisen during the Pandemic and identify how they have impacted the way social service work is being delivered.

2. Understand the psychological and operational impacts the pandemic has had on social service workers.

3. Learn how to adjust the culture of your organizations and management styles to support your behavioral health care workers.

4. Develop specific strategies for adjusting the workflow to support your mental health workers.
