As previously announced, the University continues to work toward a comprehensive electronic research administration system, AURA (Automated University-Wide Research Administration). This past summer, the AURA-Grants system was released to campus, and to date over 1,000 faculty and administrators have used the system to process grant and contract related information, including submissions directly to

I'm pleased to announce that the next phase the Institutional Review Board electronic system (AURA IRB) is planned to be released to campus on April 2nd 2012. AURA-IRB will be the comprehensive system for all human research protocol submissions (New Studies, Amendments, Continuing Reviews and Unanticipated Problems) to any of the three IRB offices on campus. In addition, we will be migrating information stored in the existing electronic systems to streamline the transition between our old systems to the AURA systems as much as possible.

Over the next several weeks, additional communications from the AURA project team will be sent to provide more information related to the release. This will include training options and detailed information related to the transition period.
