Kelli Chavez

Kelli Chavez is the associate director of community development initiatives in the University of Chicago Office of Civic Engagement. She supports economic inclusion efforts through the UChicago Local Initiative and Buy, Live, and Hire Local programs and serves as project manager for the South Side Housing Data Initiative. Chavez previously worked in multicultural student affairs at Valparaiso University and in anti-hunger research at Feeding America, contributing to Map the Meal Gap. Her professional background also includes mental health counseling and community-based social service work.
